No matter how well a water piping system is treated, the pipes corrode and eventually there is a loss of the pipe wall. The loss of pipe wall can lead to drips that cause damage to ceilings, furniture, computers, and other office materials. If left unchecked, the drip can turn into major floods as the corrosion continues to deteriorate the pipe wall.
Ultrasonic thickness testing allows the wall thickness of a pipe to be measured with a high degree of accuracy, compared to the original wall thickness, and allows a determination of the remaining useful life of the pipe estimated.
We utilize the ECHO 9 meter, with appropriate sensors, to measure wall thickness of steel, copper, cast iron, brass, and other types of metals. We can help determine the remaining useful life of the piping, and recommend solutions for either cleaning the piping system or replacing the piping system.
Ultrasonic Thickness Testing rate: $140/hour. All travel expenses are billed at actual expense plus 20%.
