
JDI Facility Services, LLC, performs facility condition assessments (FCA) for clients in the commercial and government arena. Our FCA services bring a practical approach to the assessment, recognizing that not all equipment is the same.
Most FCA companies utilize the RS Means for life cycle replacement, and most FCA companies list the replacement recommendations based on RS Means to be safe and free of possible conflict. Our approach is to look at each piece of equipment, the manufacturer or brand, the level of maintenance performed, and whether the piece of equipment can be refurbished or requires full replacement. We prefer to have dialog with the client about their maintenance programs and determine if the maintenance program will add value to the life cycle. Most equipment, if cared for properly, can far out live a 20-year life cycle.
Our assessment model is based on our visual and some levels of non-destructive testing (example- infrared scans of electrical panels) recommendations provide results to a client that validates their maintenance programs, a capital recommendation program that aligns with the client’s own program, and a maintenance team that feels appreciated after reading the reports on how the equipment is being maintained. In some cases, the equipment may not be maintained properly, and we will make recommendations on how to maintain as well as part of the process.
